Roasted hazelnuts can be bought loosely from the fresh produce or health food sections of most supermarkets.

Granita Golden Syrup Flan

  • Arnott's product  Granita
  • Preparation time 5 minutes
  • Cooking Time 20 minutes
  • Chill Time 
  • Serves 6
Ingredients
1 packet Arnott’s Granita with Fruit biscuits, crushed
2/3 cup golden syrup
1 egg, whisked
80g roasted unsalted hazelnuts, roughly chopped
220g unbaked sweet short pastry flan base, frozen
Method
Preheat the oven to 180°C.

In a mixing bowl, combine all the ingredients, and press the mixture into the pastry base.

Bake in the oven for 20 minutes or until the top is just firm and brown. Allow to cool and serve sliced with ice-cream or cream, if desired. The flan is best made the day before required.
